This holder happes to coincide with a conversation I’ve been having about the conflation of two empathic notions; one to be aware of the feeling/emothins/thoughts of others, and the second to put oneself in their shoes to try their emotions on for a time.
You say conflation, but one is really a part of the other – the first would be a result of the second? However, that’s a great Crash Course – very good in the balance and in “seeing complexly”. (Saw an excellent dialogue last night by 4 Muslims, which I’ve not written up yet – but very relevant.)

It also reminds me of the John Green line about the need for people “to understand the other complexly” reiterated here in a recent video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ka8csjsmX6I&list=UUX6b17PVsYBQ0ip5gyeme-Q
